Helping Families Find Clarity and Move Forward

Sometimes the hardest part is not knowing why something feels so difficult.

About coherence

About Our Practice Structure

Reesman Neuropsychology, LLC and Allen Psychology, LLC are two independent clinical practices that share the same office space and work collaboratively when appropriate. Although they frequently consult with one another and coordinate care to support individuals and families, each practice remains independently responsible for its own clinical services, scheduling, billing, records, and professional care.

Understanding the Whole Person

Finding Clarity, Building a Path Forward

A child who seems incredibly bright may struggle to finish homework, remember instructions, or keep up with classmates. A teenager’s confidence may slowly fade as school, friendships, or emotions become harder to manage. An adult may spend years wondering why everyday responsibilities require so much more effort than they seem to for everyone else. Families often find themselves searching for answers after trying different strategies, hearing different opinions, or being told that someone will simply “grow out of it.”

Coherence Neuropsychology and Supports was created to make those experiences feel less fragmented. The practice brings together neuropsychological evaluation, therapy, behavioral support, and school consultation within one collaborative setting, allowing concerns to be understood from multiple perspectives rather than through isolated appointments. Assessment can help clarify why challenges are occurring, therapy can build practical skills and confidence, and consultation can help families and schools work toward the same goals.

The practice reflects the close collaboration between two experienced clinicians who share a common philosophy. While each maintains an independent practice, they work alongside one another, regularly consulting on complex cases and combining their expertise when it benefits the individuals and families they serve. That collaboration helps create continuity, so recommendations, treatment, and support are connected instead of feeling like separate pieces of a puzzle.

No two people arrive with the same story. Some families are looking for answers after years of unanswered questions. Others are responding to new concerns following a concussion, changes in memory, increasing anxiety, behavioral challenges, or difficulties at school. Some adults simply want to better understand themselves after years of adapting to challenges that never fully made sense.

Whatever brings someone through the door, the goal remains the same: to understand what is happening beneath the surface, identify strengths alongside areas of difficulty, and provide practical recommendations that can make daily life at home, at school, at work, and in relationships more manageable.

Every person who walks through the door arrives with a different story.

Who We See

Some parents are concerned because their young child is developing unevenly, reaching certain milestones with ease while others seem unexpectedly difficult. Others are trying to understand why a bright student struggles with reading, attention, organization, or behavior despite everyone’s best efforts at home and school. Teenagers may be coping with anxiety, emotional changes, or increasing academic demands that have become difficult to manage. Adults often seek answers after years of adapting to challenges they never fully understood, while older adults and their families may be looking for clarity about changes in memory, thinking, or everyday functioning.

Many families are also navigating systems that can feel overwhelming. An upcoming IEP meeting, questions about school services, uncertainty about accommodations, or concerns about what to do next can leave parents feeling like they need guidance as much as answers. Evaluation, therapy, and consultation can help bring those pieces together, creating a clearer understanding of both the challenges and the strengths that can guide future planning.

The practice also offers a service that is uncommon in neuropsychology, comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations conducted directly in American Sign Language (ASL), without relying on an interpreter. This allows communication to occur naturally throughout the evaluation process and provides a more accurate understanding of cognitive, learning, and emotional functioning for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals who use ASL as their primary language. Families often travel considerable distances to access this specialized expertise because opportunities for direct ASL-based neuropsychological assessment remain limited.

Take the First Step

Getting started begins with a conversation.

If you have questions about an evaluation, therapy, school consultation, or you’re simply unsure where to begin, send us an email. A member of our team will respond within one business day, ask a few questions about your concerns, and help determine whether neuropsychological evaluation, therapy, or a combination of services may be the best place to start. There is no charge for this initial conversation.

Referrals are also welcomed from physicians, schools, therapists, attorneys, and other professionals seeking collaborative care for the individuals and families they support.

Please note that contacting Coherence Neuropsychology and Supports does not establish a provider-patient relationship.

Every family's situation is different

What Families Value Most

Every family’s situation is different, but many tell us they were looking for the same things: clear answers, practical guidance, and a process that feels organized from the very first conversation.

Some appreciate knowing that the practice brings together more than 30 years of combined clinical experience in neuropsychology, psychology, therapy, and school consultation. Others are relieved to find that neuropsychological evaluations can often be completed with written reports and personalized feedback available within approximately two weeks, allowing families, schools, and healthcare providers to move forward without unnecessary delays.

For Deaf and hard of hearing individuals who communicate primarily in American Sign Language (ASL), the practice offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations conducted directly in ASL, without the use of an interpreter. This specialized service allows communication to occur naturally throughout the evaluation and provides a more accurate understanding of cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning.

Families also value the way services work together. When an evaluation leads to therapy recommendations, when school consultation would be helpful, or when a child’s needs change over time, collaboration happens naturally while each independent practice remains responsible for its own clinical care. Instead of disconnected recommendations, families receive guidance that reflects ongoing communication and shared clinical insight.

Additional conveniences help make care more accessible, including telehealth services available through PSYPACT in participating states and a commitment to responding to new inquiries within one business day. For many families, those details help create a process that feels responsive, organized, and focused on helping them move forward with confidence.

Why "Coherence"?

The name Coherence reflects an idea that is central to both neuropsychology and therapy. In cognitive science, coherence describes the process of bringing different pieces of information together so they form a meaningful, complete picture rather than a collection of disconnected facts.

That same philosophy guides the care families receive. An evaluation should do more than provide a diagnosis. It should explain how cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and developmental factors interact in everyday life, and translate those findings into practical recommendations that can be used at home, in school, at work, and during treatment.

Likewise, therapy is most effective when it builds upon a clear understanding of a person’s strengths, challenges, and goals. School consultation, behavioral support, and family guidance are often most helpful when everyone is working from the same understanding rather than separate pieces of information.

When assessment, therapy, consultation, and ongoing support are connected, families spend less time trying to interpret conflicting advice and more time moving forward with confidence. That commitment to helping the pieces fit together, so individuals and families have a clearer path ahead, is what the name Coherence represents.
